I watched the Great Gatsby yesterday after I finished the
book one week ago. The movie used Nick’s point of view to show the whole story.
He was a bystander, and he was Daisy’s cousin and Gatsby’s closest friend.
Gatsby, the protagonist, was a poor young man when he met Daisy and fell in
love with her. She left him and married another guy that had money. Gatsby didn’t
give up. He worked so hard to gain reputation and became a rich and powerful
man. He was great, not because his status, his loyalty to love and his positive
attitude was worshipful. He died for his lover, although he known all she cared
was money and excitement. It was regrettable that he died at the end of the
movie. He could move on and have a better life, but he didn’t. He was just too
blind in love.
